Shankar is a 300hrs+ qualified from RYS Yoga Darshanam in Mysore and 220hrs from RYS Spirit Sadhana School of Yoga in Barcelona. He specialises in Hatha Vinyasa and deep Pranayama. He is also the founder of the Yoga Cave Initiative, an online initiative to promote authentic and classical yoga teachers from India who have exceptional skills.
Shankar is an ex city worker turned yoga specialist who traveled throughout India learning yoga from authentic yoga teachers, realising his transformational connection to yoga and his purpose to impart this beautiful system of life to others. He has taught the subject at all levels in several countries around the world, through classes, retreats and teacher trainings.
Shankar helps students unfold deeper layers of consciousness in their move towards perfection. He is respected for his ability to balance unique and strategic sequencing, sound alignment, and sophisticated and advanced philosophical concepts into a devotional vinyasa practice. He offers an inspiring and powerful combination of asana and breath (pranayama) that leaves students uplifted and empowered.
Shankar’s pranayama teaching will correct pranic imbalances and harness energy for systematic development of the physique and the psyche. His asana practice will harmonise and relax – using the outer body to improve energy flow in the inner body, develop inner awareness and thus reach higher consciousness. Improved muscle strength, stamina, dexterity, and agility will also be achieved through his integrated approach to yoga for positive physical health.
